Following on the from successful launch of the RX300 which is based on the Raspberry Pi3, NComputing recently released the RX-HDX for Citrix XenApp & XenDesktop environments.
The RX-HDX is a fully optimised Citrix HDX Ready thin client, delivering a low-cost and powerful desktop virtualisation solution for enterprises. Powered by the latest Raspberry Pi 3 platform with Quad Core Broadcom 2837 SoC, the RX-HDX provides full HD multimedia capabilities demanded by knowledge workers whilst using less than 5 watts of power.The RX-HDX thin client incorporates full client-side rendering for efficient playback of video content and uses server-side rendering for flash video playback with resolutions up to 1920×1200.
Additional features include integrated 802.11 b/g/n wi-fi, dual screen display via HDMI using the Pi Zero display adapter which is sold separately & Skype for Business integration delivering clear, crisp high-definition audio-video conferencing with integrated HDX Real-Time Media Engine support (coming in Q4). Users can seamlessly participate in audio-video or audio-only calls to and from other HDX RealTime Media Engine users, native Skype for Business, and other standards-based desktop video and conference room systems.
